Paul W. Thompson

Presented here are sermons given by the Rev. Paul W. Thompson, D. Min, during his faithful 40-year ministry as Pastor of Aldan Union Church. Pastor Paul followed an “expository teaching method”, taking each book of the Bible and preaching through it verse by verse. The sermons are presented in that order so that the listener can use these for a thorough daily Bible study, and to research and understand difficult passages. Listen online or download each sermon to take with you in the car or on a plane. Pastor Paul dedicated many thousands of hours to the study of scripture and the preparation of these works.

All of the knowledge of God that we need to know is to be found in the reading and study of the Bible, the inspired Word of God. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16).

God the Father sent Jesus into the world as his Holy Word, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12).

Further we are told that His Word “is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalm 119:105)

A God-fearing guide to the truths of God's Word provides a foundation for our own study and meditation. God's charge to Pastors is: “Be diligent to present yourself approved unto God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:11) Pastor Paul dedicated his life to achieving this admonition.

As you listen to these sermons, be sure to have your Bible at hand for your own reference to God's Word. Sermons from the 1980s through the early 2000s used the NIV 84 version of the Bible, while later sermons utilized the ESV.
